We continue toward Tinghir, passing adobe kasbahs and palm groves, until we reach the Todra Gorges. Here we’ll stop to walk into the canyon and enjoy a short hike between its high walls. Later, in Touroug, you’ll see the traditional underground irrigation system that ancient tribes used to bring water from the mountains. There will be time for lunch along the way.
We then head to Erfoud, a gateway to the desert renowned for its fossils, and continue to Merzouga to enter the Erg Chebbi dunes. Before arrival, if you wish, you can purchase a scarf for your desert adventure.
We’ll ride dromedaries to the desert camp of jaimas, stopping to admire the sunset over the towering dunes and capture unforgettable photos. Your luggage will be transported in advance to your private tent. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a warm welcome and, after a short rest, dinner will be served in the camp’s restaurant. The night continues beneath an impressive starry sky, accompanied by traditional Berber music around the campfire. Overnight in jaimas (desert tents).
On the third day of your private desert tour, wake up before dawn for a memorable camel ride to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After returning to the camp (or lodge) for breakfast and a quick refresh, we depart Merzouga and make our way to Erfoud, a town famed for its fossil workshops and desert ambiance.
