This trip offers more than just a view; it presents a diverse tapestry of nature's brilliance, interspersed with fascinating glimpses into the local community's day-to-day life, traditions, and customs. You'll be enchanted by the sheer beauty and variety this Moroccan valley presents, making your day trip a memorable adventure.
Pickup will be at your hotel in Marrakech (or an accessible point by car) around 9:00 in the morning to head to the Ourika Valley. On this shared one-day trip to Ourika, you will explore its reddish villages built of adobe and stone that blend in with the mountains of the same color. Then, you will visit a local Argan association, to see how this rich oil is extracted and how its cosmetic products are made.
We will continue to Tnin Ourika, one of the largest souks in the area. From there, we head to Setti Fatma, a Berber village to which Marrakech residents escape to escape the heat of Marrakech. In this village, you will take a hike on the route known as the 7 Waterfalls. If this hike is not for you, you can stay by the river to have a tea or a soda while the group returns. To replenish your energy, you will enjoy lunch in one of the curious restaurants with tables and chairs located in the same river.
Our shared full-day trip to the Ourika Valley and the waterfalls will end around 5 pm in Marrakech.
The trip includes pickup and drop-off at your Riad or hotel in Marrakech, transportation in a modern minibus, and excellent service throughout the excursion.
The Ourika Valley is approximately 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Marrakech, which is about 50 minutes drive.
Wear comfortable, layered clothing and sturdy walking shoes for the hike. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also recommended. Don’t forget your camera to capture the beautiful scenery and unique sights along the way.
Lunch is not included, but there are many cafes and restaurants along the valley where you can enjoy local Moroccan dishes during lunch time.
